The Pursuit of the Perfect Cup

Vintage coffee roasting machine in a sunlit room

Founded in 2018

Seattle, Washington

Lumina Coffee Co. started with a simple belief: coffee is more than just a morning ritual; it's an art form. We wanted to build a brand that respects the tradition of coffee roasting while pushing the boundaries of flavor.

Our Sourcing Philosophy

We meticulously source the finest beans directly from sustainable farms across the globe. We build long-term relationships with our farmers, ensuring they are paid fairly for their craft. This transparency allows us to guarantee the highest quality while supporting the communities that make our coffee possible.

Every bean we purchase tells a story of its origin—from the rich volcanic soils of Colombia to the high altitudes of Ethiopia. We travel to these regions not just to buy coffee, but to understand the land, the people, and the unique challenges they face.

The Art of Roasting

Using our carefully restored vintage Probat roasters, our process is a delicate balance of science and human intuition. We roast in small batches, relying on sight, sound, and smell. We carefully monitor temperature curves to unlock the unique, hidden flavor profile within each individual bean.

We don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach. Our head roaster, with over two decades of experience, treats each harvest as a unique canvas, adjusting the heat and airflow to coax out the natural sweetness, clear acidity, and complex aromatics that define a truly exceptional cup of coffee.

Our Commitment to the Future

Sustainability at Lumina Coffee Co. isn't just a marketing buzzword; it's woven into the very fabric of our operations. From implementing compostable packaging for all our retail bags to ensuring our roasting facility operates on 100% renewable energy, we are hyper-conscious of our environmental footprint.
